Irwin Cohen, M.D., MPH, TM, F.A.A.P.

General Pediatrician

Dr. Irwin Cohen is a board certified pediatrician, Preventive Medicine and held boards in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Cohen graduated from the University of Rochester Medical School and completed residencies at the University of North Carolina and University of Chicago. He received his Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine degree at Tulane University and completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at LSU.

Dr. Cohen then spent three years in the Peace Corps, nine months in Yugoslavia evaluating a stroke rehabilitation program, two years in Guatemala as a volunteer Physician at the Behrhorst Clinic, two years in Jamaica working with Project Hope, and two years in the U.S. Navy at Camp LeJeune, NC.  Dr. Cohen worked 24 years at Tulane University Medical School as Professor of Pediatrics and Community Medicine.  After that he was Medical Director and Pediatrician at Lallie Kemp Hospital, and then served as Physician to the School Based Health Centers in Greensburg, La.  Dr. Cohen has a lovely wife, three sons, a foster daughter and seven grandchildren.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Heather Moya is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care (CPNP-PC) and Board Certified Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS). She graduated with Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS (May 2006) and then graduated with a Master of Science in Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from University of South Alabama, AL in December of 2014. 

She began her nursing career on Mother-Baby unit at Baton Rouge General, providing couplet care. Then worked as a Pediatric wellness nurse for 8 years, until becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2014. Since then, she has worked in Primary Care Pediatrics. She obtained certification as a Primary Care Pediatric Mental Health Specialist in 2019 and have been integrating behavioral health services into primary care ever since. Heather is happily married with 3 children.

Phyllis is a registered medical assistant who Graduated from Hammond High School, attended SLU and graduated from Compass Career College as a Medical Assistant.

She is married to Ronald Robertson and has two daughters Brookes Kelly and Jasmine Neal . Phyllis has 10 wonderful grandchildren who are the loves of her life. My hobbies are attending whatever events her grandchildren are involved in and spending time with family and friends.
