Nurse Practitioner

Carla is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has nine years of primary care pediatrics experience. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 1984 from the University of Southern Mississippi; with membership in Sigma Theta Tau honor society. She earned her Master’s in Family Practice from the University of South Alabama in 2009. Carla is a member of the MS Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Carla was a school nurse at Pearl River Central Elementary and Middle Schools for nine years. Before that, she was employed as a staff and charge nurse at Slidell Memorial Hospital in the Pediatrics, Nursery and Obstetrics department. Carla has precepted numerous area students, investing in their goals of becoming nurse practitioners.

Carla is a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune, where she is on the missions committee, and serves as a Bible study facilitator. Carla enjoys missions, spending time with family, traveling, being at home, and reading. She also enjoys being married for 36 years to her best friend Bruce, who is a retired teacher and coach. Carla and Bruce have three daughters, two sons in law, and four grandchildren.
