I.S. Victor Pouw, M.D., F.A.A.P.*
Pediatric Endocrinologist
Dr. In-Sian Victor Vincent Pouw was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and grew up in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he graduated from High School in 1976. He went to college at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Sciences. After returning to his hometown of Rotterdam he attended the Erasmus University School of Medicine from which he graduated in 1983 as a Medical Doctor. In 1986 Dr. Pouw moved to the US to specialize in Pediatrics. He did his internship at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and finished residency training in Baltimore, Maryland at St. Agnes Hospital, an affiliate of the renowned John Hopkins School of Medicine. For his subspecialty training in Pediatric Endocrinology, he went to Cornell University Medical Center in New York City where he trained under the internationally recognized Dr. Maria I.New.
After his training in New York, Dr. Pouw worked in Valley, Alabama in 1995 as a General Pediatrician and Pediatric Endocrinologist. He has also worked at the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time he became board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Pouw and his family moved to Slidell, Louisiana in 2001 to join Children’s International Medical Group® to become a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist. His particular fields of medical interest are Type I Diabetes Mellitus, Growth, Adrenal and Thyroid Disorders.

Cathy Bartley, PNP, has been caring for children & families for more than 30 years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about helping parents understand their child’s health and supporting kids as they grow & thrive. Cathy believes in working together with families and promote wellness, prevent illness, and create a positive healthcare experience where children feel safe, valued, & cared for.
