I.S. Victor Pouw, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Pediatric Endocrinologist
Dr. In-Sian Victor Vincent Pouw was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and grew up in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he graduated from High School in 1976. He went to college at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Sciences. After returning to his hometown of Rotterdam he attended the Erasmus University School of Medicine from which he graduated in 1983 as a Medical Doctor. In 1986 Dr. Pouw moved to the US to specialize in Pediatrics. He did his internship at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and finished residency training in Baltimore, Maryland at St. Agnes Hospital, an affiliate of the renowned John Hopkins School of Medicine. For his subspecialty training in Pediatric Endocrinology, he went to Cornell University Medical Center in New York City where he trained under the internationally recognized Dr. Maria I.New.
After his training in New York, Dr. Pouw worked in Valley, Alabama in 1995 as a General Pediatrician and Pediatric Endocrinologist. He has also worked at the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time he became board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Pouw and his family moved to Slidell, Louisiana in 2001 to join Children’s International Medical Group® to become a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist. His particular fields of medical interest are Type I Diabetes Mellitus, Growth, Adrenal and Thyroid Disorders.
Brittany Monroe
Pediatric Office Manager
Brittany Monroe was born and raised in Louisiana and has spent more than 20 years living in Lacombe. Brittany originally joined the Children’s International Medical Group at our Slidell clinic in July of 2007. Prior to joining Children’s International Medical Group, Brittany had several years of experience working with children, so choosing a career in Pediatrics was very easy for her. She has had the opportunity to work in all areas of a medical office, making her highly versatile and knowledgeable in all aspects of our clinics.
Brittany and her husband, Dustin, had twin boys in June 2010 and they are the light of her life and inspire her each day. She enjoys spending any extra quality time with her family and experiencing this new chapter in her life of being a mother. If you see Brittany in the office make sure to ask her about her favorite cartoon, Doc McStuffins!
